NEW YORK, NY December 15, 2006 —The President of the Transport Workers Union is still waiting to find out if he'll keep his job. Roger Toussaint was challenged by 4 opponents in his race for re-election and the votes are being counted today.
But a year after leading his 34,000 members in a 3-day strike, the union finally has a new contract. Today, an arbitration panel announced its decision. WNYC's Beth Fertig joins WNYC’s All Things Considered host, Amy Eddings, to talk about this, and other developments in the world of mass transit.
