NJ Assembly Approve Civil Union Bill
by Amy Eddings
WNYC NEWSROOM December 14, 2006 —New Jersey Assembly members have approved a bill to create civil unions. The Senate is expected to follow suit later this evening. The votes come after the State’s highest court ruled the state must offer marriage or its equivalent to gay couples.
