Clintons Take Turns Bashing Bush at Fundraiser

WNYC NEWSROOM October 27, 2006 —Sen. Hillary Clinton and her husband former President Bill Clinton took the opportunity last night at the senator's birthday fundraiser to each bash the Bush administration's domestic and foreign policies.
REPORTER: Sen. Clinton said the Bush Administration has bungled everything from the war in Iraq to dealing with last year's Hurricane Katrina which devastated New Orleans. She said Bush and his administration remain detached from the American public and said she hopes the voters will send the Republicans a message.
CLINTON: And I hope there is a great outpouring across our country of people who say they've had enough they're not going to put up with the arrogance and incompetence - a particularly lethal combination any longer...
REPORTER: A call to the White House was not immediately returned. More than 1,100 people attended the $1,000-a-plate fundraiser at Tavern on the Green.
