What is IQ²U.S.
IQ²U.S. (Intelligence Squared US) is an annual series of eight provocative and informative live debates on the hot-button concerns of the day. The debates reach a wide audience and attract as speakers the top experts, specialists and passionate advocates for both sides of each issue.
The purpose of the series is to raise the level of public discourse on our most challenging issues and to provide a new forum for intelligent discussion, grounded in facts and informed by reasoned analysis.

Adding It Up
Community colleges are playing a growing role in American higher education. But their graduation rates have long been dismal. Students who enroll in community colleges tend to be poorer and less academically successful than students at four-year colleges. Most need remedial classes, especially in math. To see why math is such a hurdle, WNYC’s Beth Fertig spent the fall of 2009 visiting a class at LaGuardia Community College in Queens.
