Union Board Backs Tentative Agreement

NEW YORK, NY December 28, 2005 —The transit strike ended last week. But a deal on a new contract wasn't reached until late last night. That's when the executive board of the Transport Workers Union threw its weight behind a tentative agreement that would provide a wage increase of 10.5% over 3 years. WNYC's Beth Fertig has been covering the negotiations and the strike.
