Does NYC Have a Chance in 2012

NEW YORK, NY June 06, 2005 —New York's bid for the 2012 Olympics was dealt a big blow today when Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver announced he could not support the proposed West Side Stadium.
He said if he allowed the deal to go forward, he would be turning his back on Lower Manhattan and other state priorities, such as education. Meanwhile, the International Olympic Committee released its evaluations of the five cities vying for the 2012 games, and while it spoke well of New York, London and Paris got higher praise.
With us now to discuss the city's chances for getting the games is Jay Kriegel. He's the executive director of NYC2012 the group spearheading the city's Olympic dream.
