Men Indicted on Buildings Plot
by Fred Mogul
NEW YORK, NY April 12, 2005 —Three men have been indicted on charges they plotted to attack financial institutions in New York, New Jersey and Washington.
They're charged with conspiracy and providing material support to terrorists. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says they also face charges in England, where they are currently in custody.
KELLY: They are indicted here and whether or not they actually ever are extradicted here I guess is a matter of discussion. But I think it's important, both substantively and symbolically important, that you come here, you do this type of surveillance -- we're not going to forget.
The charges are based on a computer hard drive that is said to have contained images and detailed descriptions of the New York Stock Exchange and Citicorp Building in Manhattan, the Prudential Building in Newark, and the World Bank and IMF buildings in Washington, D.C.
