RPA Study Lists Alternatives for the West Side
by Andrea Bernstein
NEW YORK, NY December 02, 2004 —An independent planning group has issued a study saying there are more alternatives for the West Side than a hole in the ground or a football stadium. The Regional Plan Association study says a mix of parks, housing, and commercial space would knit together the neighborhood with the Hudson River. And they say it would return five-hundred million tax dollars to government coffers over thirty years, while the Jets stadium would bring only seventy-four million. WNYC's Andrea Bernstein sat down to speak with Regional Plan Association President Bob Yaro.
