Party! Another Side of the Convention

by Andrea Bernstein

BOSTON, MA July 29, 2004 — Though delegates ostensibly are in Boston to nominate their presidential candidate, one of the main activities of the elected officials there is attending parties, most sponsored by large corporations. WNYC's Andrea Bernstein spoke to several New York elected officials about the parties they'd attended. Here are their descriptions.

The voices you hear are: Assembly member Herman "Denny" Farrell, Chair of the New York State Democratic Party; Comptroller William Thompson; Congresss member Gregory Meeks; City Councilmember Leroy Comry; U.S. Senator Charles Schumer; and City Council Member David Weprin.
