Voices Remembering Councilman Davis

by Beth Fertig

NEW YORK, NY July 29, 2003 — City councilman James Davis's burial takes place Tuesday afternoon, following a funeral service and a symbolic march in Brooklyn. Davis's murder captured headlines because of the violent way he was gunned down in City Hall last week by political rival Othniel Askew. But those who knew Davis say the 41 year old first-term councilman from Fort Green will be long remembered.
