The Great Saunter

NEW YORK, NY April 29, 2003 — The classic way to take a tour around Manhattan is to board one of the Circle Line boats, and spend a few hours on the water. But what about circumnavigating the island on foot? Each year on the first Saturday in May there is a hike which offers a chance to walk all 32 miles of Manhattan shore-line. As WNYC's Karen Frillmann discovered The Great Saunter is a truly unique way to explore the city.
