What's Next for Bloomberg and Schools?

NEW YORK, NY June 17, 2002 — There's nothing in writing just yet. But Mayor Bloomberg says he has an "understanding" with state leaders on a deal giving him control over the city schools. The agreement follows months of negotiations and marks the mayor's first big accomplishment since taking office this year.
