Tense Times for Afghani Community

NEW YORK, NY October 16, 2001 — Envoys from Pakistan have been trying to persuade the country’s ruling Taliban to turn over the prime suspect: Osama bin Laden. For immigrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan, these are tense times. As WNYC’s Beth Fertig reports, many are caught between supporting America while also being concerned for their families back home.
