BROOKLYN, NY February 26, 2001 — The New York Power Authority is working double shifts six days a week to get 11 new plants up and running by June. Energy officials are warning there will be a serious power shortage this summer unless capacity is increased. But residents who live around the plants are concerned about the environmental impact. And, as WNYC's Patricia Willens reports, not everyone believes the Authority's warnings.
