NEW YORK, NY November 11, 2009 —New Jersey Governor Elect Chris Christie has announced his transition team. And, as WNYC's Bob Hennelly reports, prominent Democrats are on it.

REPORTER: The campaign may have been a bitter partisan battle but, post-election, it appears Governor Elect Christie wants a bi-partisan team. Former Attorney General David Samson, who served under both Governor Whitman and Governor McGreevey will lead the transition. Also on the list, Democratic Mayor of Woodbridge John McCormac who served as state treasurer under Governors McGreevey and Codey. And Hudson County Democratic State Senator Sandra B. Cunningham has agreed to be a part of the team as well. The choices may be guided by pragmatism. Christie does face both a State Senate and Assembly that are overwhelmingly Democratic.

On the personal side of the transition, the Christies and their four school-age children are opting to maintain their Morris County residence. No first family has lived full time in Drumthwacket, the Governor's official mansion in Princeton, since the McGreeveys.
