NEW YORK, NY November 03, 2009 —Today's General Election might not be as hot a topic as the World Series or even the latest episode of "Mad Men", but it's still on the minds of many New Yorkers.

Max Marshall of Manhattan says he's voting against Mayor Bloomberg because, he says his wealth makes him out of touch with most residents.

MARSHALL: I'm not voting for Bloomberg, tired of that guy, we're lookin for a change, can't buy everything in this city -disappointing.

REPORTER: But another Manhattan resident, Robert Young, says he knows nothing about the other candidates, and with Bloomberg, he figures there won't be any surprises:

YOUNG: At least with Bloomberg - I don't agree with everything that he's done but at least I know where he's coming from.

REPORTER: And the election is not even on the radar for other New Yorkers, like "Rhoda H." who declined to give her last name.

RHODA H: I forgot who's running, what is it for mayor? I'm gonna vote for whaddayacall, who's mayor now?

REPORTER: Polls are open in New York until nine tonight. In New Jersey, where voters are electing a governor, polls are open until eight.
