NEW YORK, NY October 30, 2009 —A new survey shows the city's low-income Latinos may be having a tougher time during the recession. David Jones, with the Community Service Society, says more than a quarter of those surveyed lost their jobs last year, while 31-percent lost benefits or hours-on-the-job.

JONES: We were hearing this recession as though it's just Wall Street and big shots with six-figure incomes are the only ones being hurt here. In fact this is a recession or depression for working New Yorkers, particularly those of color and particularly Latinos.

REPORTER: Jones also says Latinos are clustered in parts of the economy hurting the most, including construction, retail, and manufacturing.
