Police Departments on Alert for Homemade Bombs
by Amy Eddings
NEW YORK, NY September 15, 2009 —Counterterrorism officials are warning police departments around the country to be on the lookout for evidence of homemade bombs, following raids yesterday on at least two apartments in Queens. Officials say no explosives were found in yesterday's raids. A Justice Department spokesman says the intelligence warning was shared with state and local partners out of "prudence."
