NYC Builds Workspace for Media Freelancers
WNYC Newsroom
NEW YORK, NY July 07, 2009 —Media freelancers in New York City are getting a new workspace downtown. The space will accommodate 50 freelancers at a time and is being partially funded by a $100,000 grant from the city.
Costs are still being worked out, but the city estimates it could cost a freelancer $25 dollars for a 1-day drop in, and between $200 and $400 a month for a full time space.
The workspace is part of a city effort to help the struggling newspaper, television and internet industry stay afloat in tough times.
