Gay Marriage Supporters Air Ad
by Jenna Flanagan
NEW YORK, NY May 13, 2009 —With a gay marriage bill now before a divided New York senate, opponents and supporters are gearing up to sway members to their side. The Empire State Pride Agenda, which advocates for same sex marriage, released a commercial today in Albany, Syracuse and Buffalo.
AD: "Our daughter Amy met the person she loved 12 years ago and she can't marry the person she loves."
Conservative religious groups are mobilizing, too. A rally in Albany is planned for next month. Yesterday, the state assembly approved gay marriage in a vote that had more supporters this year than when the measure was first passed in 2007.
