NEW YORK, NY January 19, 2009 —Obama supporters are heeding the call of the president-elect and using Martin Luther King Junior Day as a national day of service and volunteering. Cathy Wolfson helped out at Sue Rock Originals, a nonprofit that makes clothes for domestic abuse survivors heading into the workplace.

Wolfson says volunteering makes her feel like part of a new movement.

WOLFSON: Part of something bigger. I think it's all grounded in that people feel so proud of America, and proud that they have elected this person, and proud that you can believe that change is really going to happen. And, they really want to do their part.
