Some Business Leaders Optimistic Despite Wall Street Woes

by Patricia Willens

NEW YORK, NY September 27, 2008 —While there's talk of turbulence and anxiety in the financial markets, some business leaders are taking the long view.

REPORTER: Barry Gosin is the CEO of Newmark Knight Frank, the global real estate leasing company. He says he's optimistic about what's coming next.

GOSIN: There's always opportunities, there's always a silver lining, there's always a certain amount of creative destruction which means the proliferation of new businesses, new innovation, new ideas.

REPORTER: Newmark leases about 35 million square feet in the tri-state region. Gosin says many of the pending deals are on hold while clients wait for Washington lawmakers to reach a deal.
