Gypsy Music Festival Hits New York
by Rob Weisberg
NEW YORK, NY September 23, 2008 —DJs spinning souped-up versions of old European folk songs have been drawing crowds in Europe and in the US for the past several years. This week, a festival at the East Village club Drom brings together many bands and artists working this musical angle. WNYC's Rob Weisberg shares his thoughts on what to look for at the festival.
