Local Republicans React to Palin's Speech
by Karen Frillmann
NEW YORK, NY September 04, 2008 —New York Republicans gathered in the Flatiron district to watch the convention coverage. Marion Drayfus of the Upper West Side said she was not disappointed by the spirited speech by vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin
DRAYFUS: I thought it was nine innings, and I thought she hit it out of the park, surprised me by being far better than I expected. She was poised and articulate, funny.
REPORTER: Melissa Estadillo of Manhattan agreed.
ESTADILLO: She was so comfortable - spoke directly to the crowd and she was so confident about her own accomplishments and why she believed in John McCain's and that's exactly what I wanted to hear.
REPORTER: A local chapter of the Young Republicans organized the convention viewing party.
