Paterson and Lawmakers Come to Agreement Over Cuts

NEW YORK, NY August 20, 2008 —Gov. David Paterson and state legislators reached an agreement today to cut state spending by about $1 billion over the next two years. City University, nursing homes and public hospitals are among those that will see their programs trimmed. With us to talk more about some of these cuts are Irene Lou, state house reporter for the Albany Times Union, and Barbara Bartoletti, executive director of the League of Women Voters.
