NEW YORK, NY July 17, 2008 —America will no longer ban HIV positive foreigners from visiting or immigrating to the U.S. Yesterday the Senate voted overwhelmingly to reverse the 20-year-old policy.

The ban has kept many people from visiting family members in New York, and made it nearly impossible to hold international AIDS conferences in the U.S. It's already been proved by the House.

Senators also voted to triple funding for President Bush's anti-AIDS program in Africa and elsewhere.
