OFFICIAL RULES
HOW TO ENTER: No purchase or pledge necessary. Nominations for entry may be made via email only. Nominations for entry must be received by 11:59 p.m EST. on Monday, October 8, 2007.
ELIGIBILITY: Anyone at least 18 years of age or older can nominate a contestant or be nominated as a contestant for the LSO on Call Giveaway except employees of WNYC and its related organizations, their immediate family or persons living in the same household. The LSO on Call Giveaway is open to any homebound music fan living in the five boroughs of New York. There is a limit of one entry per person. Void where prohibited by law.
PRIZES: Six winners will each receive one home visit/concert by two musicians from the London Symphony Orchestra. Value: $400 for each visit.
SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Winners will be nominated in writing by friends and/or loved ones, through www.wnyc.org, expressing, in 250 words or less, why the nominee is deserving of a home visit/concert by two London Symphony Orchestra musicians. Nominees must be homebound classical music lovers, unable leave their homes to attend concerts. Judging will be done by Stacy Margolis, Executive Director of the LSO American Foundation, based on recipient's interest in and dedication to classical music, the compelling nature of the situation making the person housebound, and a geographic diversity among the recipients, covering as many boroughs as possible. The judge's decision will be final. Six (6) winners will be selected by Wednesday, October 10, 2007. Winners will be notified by telephone. If a winner is unable to collect the prize, the unawarded prize will go to the first runner-up and subsequent runner-ups until prize is awarded. .A WNYC reporter and/or engineer may be on hand to document the event for an on-air report. Nominators must be present at the time of the concert/visit. Winners must provide their social security number. Prize will be delivered in person at the following times:
- Tuesday, October 16 – late morning
- Wednesday, October 17 – late morning
- Wednesday, October 17 – early afternoon
- Thursday, October 18 – late morning
- Thursday, October 18 – early afternoon
- Thursday, October 18 – early evening
GENERAL: By participating in the LSO on Call Giveaway, participants agree to the Official Rules, and that WNYC, its agents and employees, and the LSO American Foundation, its agents and employees, will have no liability whatsoever for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind resulting from their use of the prize or their participation in the giveaway. Prize is nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. There can be no substitutions for a prize of equal or greater value. Participants will submit only original work. Copyright to all entries will remain solely with the authors, though by entering this contest you are giving WNYC permission to use your entry on the air and on the website. Winner's names may be used for publicity purposes without further compensation. Taxes and expenses as a result of winning this prize are the responsibility of the winner.
RESTRICTIONS: Restrictions may apply. By participating in the Musicians on Call Giveaway, a participant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules, and by all decisions of the contest judges.
NOTICE: WNYC Radio, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any person tampering with the entry process, the operation of the Website or otherwise in violation of the rules. It further reserves the right to cancel, terminate or modify any contest not capable of completion as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention or technical failures of any sort.
