Soundcheck on Site: Berlin

During the week of November 5-9 Soundcheck turns its focus to Berlin. Host John Schaefer and members of the Soundcheck staff travel to the city to speak with musicians, journalists, producers, and other industry figures to find out what’s new and unique in that city’s pop, rock, and electronic music scenes.

Like New York, culture has long been one of Berlin's biggest calling cards. Since the early 1990s the arts have take on a special edge there, as the city's clubs, concerts halls, galleries and underground performance spaces have become a magnet for musicians and music-lovers of all stripes.

You can track Soundcheck's travels on our special blog during the week of October 25-31. Then tune in during the week of November 5-9 to hear our reports from the city.

Soundcheck on Site: Berlin comes just as several of New York’s major cultural institutions – including WNYC - are joining forces to celebrate the vibrancy of Berlin’s cultural endeavors.
