Airs Saturdays at 8 PM on 93.9 FM , June 2- July 21, 2007
Searching the files—or brain—of Michael Tilson Thomas is like taking a journey into the very heart of music and art. The Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony reminiscences about the music and the legendary artists of his career. Suzanne Vega hosts this eight-part musical odyssey, which ranges from the greatness of Jascha Heifetz to why James Brown felt so good.
The MTT Files consists of eight very original and personal one-hour radio programs. The "house band" for The MTT Files is the San Francisco Symphony, with music throughout the episodes drawn from live recordings during the 12 years MTT has been Music Director of the Orchestra.
