February 20, 2007 — The nominees for the 79th Annual Academy Awards were announced on January 23rd, 2007. This year's nominees for best original score span the globe including Spain's Javier Navarrete, France's Alexandre Desplat, and Argentina-born Gustavo Santaolalla. Dreamgirls tops the original song category with three nominations for its Broadway and Motown infused score. The Academy Awards will air on Sunday, February 25 at 8e/5p on ABC.
