WNYC’s American Music Festival 2006

Celebrating the American Voice

Friday, May 26 – Sunday, June 4 on 93.9 FM and WNYC2 HD Radio

The American Music Festival has been a WNYC tradition since 1939. This year we probe the question “What is an ‘American’ voice?” Through conversations with American artists such as Philip Glass, Mark O’Connor, and Willam Bolcom, thrilling performances, and explorations into the works and lives of seminal composers and musicians, we seek to offer some compelling answers.
