My Funny Valentine with Dick Parsons
Airs Saturday, February 14, 10pm-11pm on WNYC 93.9 FM & wnyc.org
Parsons, a passionate jazz-lover since childhood, presents a program reflecting favorite musicians, many of whom he has enjoyed seeing perform live, often multiple times. But the program is primarily shaped by Valentine’s Day itself—a kind of love letter to New York.
On The Program:
- Miles Davis Quintet “My Funny Valentine”
- Ben Webster “My Romance”
- Bill Waltrous “I’ve Got A Crush On You”
- Carmen McRae/Cal Tjader “All Is Fair In Love”
- Etta Jones/Houston Persons “My Foolish Heart”
- Lionel Hampton “I Only Have Eyes For You”
- Oscar Peterson “You Look Good To Me”
- Diana Krall “If I Had You”
