HD Radio

HD Radio LogoNew HD Radio technology now allows WNYC to present additional program streams on our FM broadcast channel and in March 2006 New York Public Radio launched our first experimental HD Radio service: WNYC2, a locally programmed 24/7 classical music stream.

Beyond the outstanding audio fidelity of HD Radio, the service also allows us to present text data such as the artist, composer and title of the work currently playing.

In order to listen to WNYC2 and other HD programming you need a HD Radio receiver. HD receivers are now on the market and many more will be available soon. In the New York area a number of radio stations are now broadcasting in HD.

If you have questions or feedback about this new service, please contact us: listenerservices@wnyc.org
