NAACP Centennial Convention
Description: WNYC is a media sponsor of the NAACP Centennial Convention, celebrating 100 years of continuous service to the civil rights cause. The theme of this year's conference is “Bold Dreams. Big Victories.” The convention will also play host to speakers including President Barack Obama, Rev. Al Sharpton, Hon. Greg Mathis, Hon. Eric H. Holder, Jr., Dr. Cornel West, Hon. Hillary Rodham Clinton, and many more.

On Friday, July 10th, The Leonard Lopate Show will welcome guest Hazel Dukes, President of the NAACP New York State Conference. Then, on Thursday, July 16th, Leonard Lopate and Jonathan Capehart, editorial writer for The Washington Post, will discuss President Obama’s speech at the NAACP’s centennial convention.
