Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust
Description: WNYC is a media sponsor of the Museum of Jewish Heritage – A Living Memorial to the Holocaust, presenting the exhibition, “Beyond Swastika and Jim Crow: Jewish Refugee Scholars at Black Colleges.” This exhibit explores the unlikely story of Jewish refugee scholars who found jobs at historically black colleges in the American South. It examines the ongoing encounter between these scholars and their students as they navigated the challenges of life in the segregated South.
