It would be easy to talk about the obviously homeless and the almost pointed sign that says "step aside", but what intrigues me the most about this image was when I saw it for the first time I had never before thought of the subway tunnels as a place of destination, or home, rather than just a passageway. It isn't often that you're in the subway for enjoyment or even just paused. At the station you are either moving or waiting, and usually waiting eagerly, impatiently. I thought how interesting or aggravating it must be to attempt to sleep in a place filled with so much anxiety.
