Most books I don't re-read because I feel as if their are so many great books out there that I need to read. Yet, there is one book I have read several times through the years and that is 'Brothers Karamazov' by Doskevsky.
You are braver than I, Kari, re-reading "The Brothers Karamazov". I devoured all of Doestoievski in my freshman year and got SO depressed that I may never again be able to get near him. And of all things to re-read! The Grand Inquisitor prosecuting Jesus. The atheist's image of the child punished in the outhouse. His claim that "everything is lawful--even murder". His conclusion that the devil must be real and therefore, for balance, GD too must be real. Yikes! I recall it far better than I would wish!
