The End - John Powell, United 93

:

It's such a beautiful restrained piece from John Powell. By far the first piece real piece of film music to deal with those kinds of issues. As a film music fan, these issues are always contended in the public circuit because people question whether it's appropriate to even make something in film out of that part of history, but it's my way of relating to the situation having lived in New York at the time. You could see the dust clouds from a small bridge in the town across the river. It was truly something to behold. I always think of this piece when I went back there.
