Simple Gifts from Aaron Copeland's Applachian Spring

Simple Gifts is a reflection on what few things we need to be happy in life. In it I also hear forgiveness and the resilience of the human spirit. It also reminds me that while mankind can create horrific destruction like 9/11, it can also create beautiful things like this piece of music. As I fly off to Afghanistan this Sunday to work on a US-funded youth leadership program, I will carry this song with me, and know that you are playing it back home. Thanks!
