ELIOT KIEVAL

I took this on a very warm night at the Lincoln Center fountain. I was walking two out-of-town guests around Manhattan after dinner and thought they would enjoy seeing Lincoln Center. There were three gorgeous French people (2 men, 1 woman) sitting and/or reclining, who were so photogenic that I asked to photograph them. They said Bien Sur, as long as I would do the same with their camera. For those, they wanted me to use the flash, in close-up. What I like about this one (besides the fountain) is the effect I got by not using flash. The people could be any young people on a warm night in any great city, physically and emotionally comfortable with one another; and in keeping with the water theme, their bodies appear in the low light to flow into one another.

  • Oh, and: as tempting as it may be -- no pets or kids (unless they have some news value!) No selfies allowed unless they feature you and the Danish Prime Minister in South Africa.
