Christmas tree prices can vary significantly from block to block. Help us get a sense of the discrepancy - and whether you feel you got a fair price.
Because the freshly cut Christmas tree is very much a luxury item, it is hard to say that any price should be considered fair or unfair. Our tree was cut two days beforehand in North Carolina and sold to us by a young guy from The Yukon Territory in Canada who is spending his time out of doors in chilly Brooklyn.
Cost of growing, cost of shipping, rented space from the city on the sidewalk and the bargaining power of the seller and the buyer are surely the factors that effect the price. I would love to know the breakdown of how that $135 is and how much goes to each step along the way of the sale.
