I've been talking to my 3rd & 4th grade gifted/talented students about the vastness of space. After telling them of what I heard on NPR, they decided they wanted to participate in the Listener Challenge. All work is done on simple construction paper.
"I think that we are not alone in the universe. Just think how many galexys there are. And out of all of those there has to be someone out there. In this picture there are two people, one from planet Earth and one from another planet. They wish they could be friends with one another." -Audrey

As you know, I have many, many friends all around the world. I love the concept that we may have friends in the Universe. Wouldn't that be wonderful to be able to extend our friendship that far?
That seems right and good to me.
In the meantime let's continue to cherish the friends we have and continue to make new friends in the "space" that we are given here on earth.
