Photographed Saturday, Nov. 3, in my kitchen in Ridgewood, NJ. This was our Rube-Goldberg coffee maker, born out of eight days (total) of powerlessness. Why do I like it? Because in the depths of despair, cold, and gas shortages, this little contraption made me laugh.

this is so cool-I saw it and knew it was when you had no power even before reading-very clever!!! hey when ya need coffee you do anything!!! LOL perfect!
