This picture was taken outside of a polling place in the village of Biscarrosse, France on May 6th, the date of the French Presidential elections. The campaign had officially opened on the 20th of March.

France is approximately 1/5 the size of the US and spent about 1/50th of the amount spent in the US campaign, which topped 2 billion dollars. They held one debate. Attack ads are illegal.
