I was delivering hot food to a nursing home in Seagate, a gated community at the western tip of Coney Island, Brooklyn. After talking with a woman named Daniele, a long time resident who was coordinating a lot of the relief to her neighborhood, she took us on a short tour of the area. The streets were deep in sand, the houses on the beach were completely off their foundations and the beach club pictured was compelling in its destruction but also so colorful bathed in sunlight like it would be on an ordinary day before the storm.
