Wonderful, Erika. I've been writing a lot about metaphors in geometry lately, and find this really intriguing. Also, I have a small stone carving of a bird beak/head with a tiny eye scribed in, with label on bottom "Calgary Cabin" that I bought at a thrift store years ago...it looks so much like the beaky thing you have there.
