On the Brian Lehrer Show we're talking about public art, and we want to know what public art project you'd propose. Make it simple, make it over-the-top. Make it realistic, or completely impossible! Note: These aren't actual pitches, just a way to share our ideas.
Balloons over New York days
A Giant Gas Balloon bearing the Neighbourhood's significance, allowed to sail over a buiding that is highest.Flatter neighbourhoods can choose a tree or a spot that is fun, a roller coaster if it is in Coney Island
The weather guys must play a big part to suggest still days.
Neighbourhoods can pick a date out of a bag. There'll be 5 days in summer so all those that wish to participate, have a chance. Taxis/bikes can have car pools or bike pools to travel between balloons.
Artists, engineers, physics, math, chemistry, children can ALL join in and add to the preparation of the balloon.
Once begun, I bet the competition will create wilder ideas each year.
