Many people brag of a record collection but none have one as extensive as Darren's. His collection spans from extremely rare and early jazz releases to world music to funk, disco, hip hop and more...and he loves it all.
I have no idea. Tens of thousands.
In an organized room in part of his finished basement. Other things are around the house.
Luckily his wife supports it!
He also buys collections off of other people, which many times is helpful to widows who are unsure what to do with their dearly departed's records (and he gives them a fair price). He also makes money to help support his own family by selling records and equipment.

Darren has the biggest phonograph I've ever seen. I mean it's HUGE.
As to how his collection affects other people... Darren's extensive music collection helped make our wedding a true expression of who we are. We're still married 11 years later.
Darren is seriously passionate about music, has an insane music collection and is an ethical and all around good guy. His word is his bond.
