Mostly vinyl. Lots and lots of vinyl.

It's one of the most extensive collections of New Wave and Gothic (and related sub-genres) in the world. If there only 5 copies of a certain Bananarama shaped picture disc, they
have at least one of them.

If they like the band enough, they strive to collect every pressing of every release, sometimes ending up with over a dozen copies of the same 12" from various countries. At record signings, it's not unusual for them to bring items even the artist had never seen before.

No vacation is complete without trips to record stores and many of their items were purchased in London or Berlin. They're known in pretty much every record store left in Manhattan.

40,000+ (not counting CDs and video collections)

How? Miraculously.

It consumes a large portion of their 2-bedroom lower east side apartment. Floor to ceiling shelves full in every room.

Shock and awe. It never escapes comment from first-time house guests. Even people who know they're collectors are amazed to see just how massive their collection is.
