Jerry Uelsmann and Maggie Taylor have made distinguished careers out of manipulating images: he's an old-school darkroom guy, while she's embraced the computer. For this challenge, they provided ten images for you to remix into an original composition.
The Remix Challenge coincided with the beginning of our Photoshop unit in Graphic Design class at Andover High School. We were so inspired by the work of Uelsmann & Taylor and with very little Photoshop experience, the students created wonderful work! Thanks so much for the challenge & inspiration!
(BTW: we had a slow network on the days I had the students submit. In the confusion, quite a few inadvertently submitted their work more than once.)

Once the Dapper Flapper was done this seemed such a good fit!

Another one that seemed too obvious once the Dapper Flapper was done!

Send effort so kept it straight forward... must say, I do like the feel, the story line...
John
Began with this one... too obvious, but art on demand with a simple image is good!

The title is ALL I WANT IS A HEAD. I've been working on one of my Barkinglips videos about a doll that only wants a head. I was able to use several of your 360 heads, and enjoyed learning how to do drop shadows.

I've always been intrigued by butterflies, they're like nature's best example of how fragile and beautiful life is.
Decided it would be a good challenge to incorporate parts of all the images in the one butterfly photo:
blackbird x 10
girl x 3
guitar x 4
hand x 4
leaves x 2
man x 5
marble head x 8
path x 4
sky/trees x 12
butterfly x 5

I liked the nature elements and it just morphed into an Earth mother goddess, a mixture of underlying cold and vibrant beauty. Named it Gemma after the show we have been enjoying and for the crows in her eye for SAMCRO.

I view this type of image making a continuation of some of the earliest 19th century photographer-artists such as Henry Peach Robinson. Although this one is quite fantastic, I find images that offer an alternate version of "reality", (+/- believable) intriguing! ...think alternate universe where your imagination is your only limit! well, that and current technology... great challenge- thanks, this was fun.

The limits of my imagination were insufficient to allow me to incorporate all ten images in any sort of cohesive image.

Poor blackbirds. They are black all the day and night long as they sing their sad songs. So, I wondered what happened to their shiny dark hue and their mournful song when they got a cold. Turns out, they turn a pretty leafy green.

The title is Hand Me Down, and the interpretation is left up to the viewer.
